What happened with Pars was only possible because Ilgaz is married to Ceylin. He LIED for him. I don’t think Pars yet realizes how profound an act of friendship it truly was. Ilgaz, the exacting burning beacon of perfect justice and righteousness no longer demands of all others what he demands of himself. And that’s PRECISELY because of Ceylin, and he even says that out loud. Because he accepted her and her numerous (My God, NUMEROUS) faults, he is able to be more understanding and less exacting of others, including his father. I appreciate these carefully depicted character developments.
