Such a thought provoking series! As a woman, I always blamed men like Mehdi and took the side of the woman unconditionally. But this series opened my eyes to the other side too…when Mehdi was broken, he was pushed and blamed over and over again by the people around him, that he loved. He did everything for everyone that treated him unfairly and betrayed him over and over again. Any good person can buckle and break under such cruelness. Even the “angel” Zeynep was very cruel to him. Yes, he did the wrong thing too, but both did wrong and only Mehdi paid for the consequence. There was no price for stepping on Mehdi’s heart, pride and humanity. I now better understand how a person can deteriorate and completely lose himself. Yes, in the end he completely lost touch with reality, but he didn’t start out that way. Zeynep was definitely not the right woman for him as he is more traditional and she is too westernised and free. As a westernised woman, I see regularly how that freeness ends marriages. I know the story wants to shed light on women abuse…it is clear that it’s not a straightforward/simple problem. There are faults on both sides.
